Nintendo launches buy-three-get-one-free 3DS game promotion in Europe

Promotion includes Luigi's Mansion 2, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D.

Nintendo of Europe has launched a promotion offering customers a free Nintendo 3DS game if they register three eligible titles from a list of eight.

The kicks off on April 23, and requires users to register any three eligible games on Club Nintendo before June 30. If three are registered, eligible customers will be able to grab an eShop code for any of the other games on the list.

The eight eligible games:

- Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (3DS)
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
- Luigi's Mansion 2
- Fire Emblem: Awakening
- Pok&eĂłmon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf
- Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins
- Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

Games registered on Club Nintendo before the promotion officially begins on April 23 will still count towards the total.

To be eligible for the So Many Games! promotion, customers have to be at least 16 and live in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, or Russia.

Strong starts from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon help portable software sales hit new milestone.

More than 20 million physical 3DS games have been sold in the United States since the platform launched during March 2011, Nintendo has announced, citing NPD data.

Nintendo called out , life-to-date combined physical and digital sales for the game now stand at 415,000 units.

, which launched late in the month, was also a top 3DS game, selling 145,000 copies during March.

Overall, total sales of 3DS software at retail jumped , according to NPD data. This momentum is likely to grow, as Nintendo has a slew of first-party games coming to 3DS in the weeks and months ahead, including Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins (April 24), Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D (May 24), Animal Crossing: New Leaf (June 9), and Mario and Luigi: Dream Team (August 11).

You guys walked into that one huh? I got my hands on Animal Crossing: New Leaf yesterday (preview here) at Nintendo's big 3DS Showcase and it wasn't hard to ease right back into daily life in my new town. I started to have neighbors I liked (and didn't like), but I didn't get to play any of this.

Nintendo has confirmed that Animal Crossing: New Leaf is coming to Europe on the 14th of June. This is just a few days after it's North American release on the 9th of June. The 3DS XL bundle will also be available in the region from this date.
